S1.Ep.14 - Leaving a Legacy: Trusts and Wills

When it comes to the topic of death and planning for one’s death, people avoid it like the plaque. But whether you choose to discuss it or not, it is a given that you will die someday. For those individuals that have amassed assets during their lifetime, creating an estate plan is imperative for so many reasons. By not making a plan, you are choosing to die “intestate”, without a will and the state in which you live has created a plan for you that may or may not carry out what you would otherwise desire. On this week’s podcast we sit with Lawrence Wooden, Esq., an estate attorney, to discuss the importance of creating an estate plan and the many downfalls that come with choosing not to direct your assets.

Diva’s Quick father has an adage that says “he who pays, says.” This week we advise our dear diva on how to change the power struggle narrative in the relationship where her partner pays for everything. If you have a personal situation you would like to write in about and have your letter read anonymously on our podcast, head over to our contact form and select the Dear Diva option or email us directly at divaadvice@gmail.com. We’d love to hear from you!
