S1.Ep.8 - The Child Left Behind: Disparity in Education
From 2002-2015, the No Child Left Behind Act was the guiding law for K–12 general education in the United States. The law focused heavily on raising testing scores or penalizing the schools with losing funding instead of the individual student’s needs. Ultimately children were still left behind in education due to inequality and the disparities in education. On this week's podcast published author and subject matter expert, Dr. Charity Brown-Griffin, discusses the many ways COVID-19 brought these disparities to the forefront as our nation was thrust into a world of K-12 academic remote learning during a pandemic.
